William J. Head, retired farmer, died Friday at his home, 4900 SW 31st Drive. Private graveside services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Cresent Grove cemetery, Tigard.
Mr. Head was born in the Guernsey Channel Islands Aug. 10, 1866. He moved to Canada in 1905 and to Orenco in 1912, where he farmed until his retirement in 1930. IN `1942 he moved to Portland. He was a member of Hinson Baptist Church.
He leaves a widow, Alice F; daughters Mrs. Harold W Rose, Laguna Beach, CA; Mrs. Theophile Petequin, Stockton, CA; Mrs. Daniel C Losley, Portland; Mrs. Major Weisenbach, Aloha; Mrs. G. Richard Teufel, Kinton and Mrs. Albert Bojanower, Downing CA; 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

"Scout Award Goes to Chapman Troop"
In a colorful setting of perfect weather, bright masses of garden color, trim scout uniforms, flags and music, Portland Girl Scouts, several hundred strong, staged their second annual garden fete yesterday at Fir Acres, home of Mrs. Edna Frank in Palantine Hill. Additional hundreds of admiring relatives and friends made up an approving audience for the all-day pageantry.

"Portland Girl, Minnesotan Wed"
Miss Doris M. Losley was Ralph A.L. Ross of South St. Paul, Minn. were married Feb. 2 by Rev. Every Parrish at a ceremony at the Church of Christ, Multnomah. the bride is the daughter of Mr and Mrs. DC Losley. Mr. Ross is the son of Mr. and Mrs. RR Ross of South St. Paul. Mr. and Mrs. Ross are temporarily at home here. They plan to return to Minnesota later in the year.

Mrs. Doris May (Kitty) Ross, 43, of 7132 SW 33re Ave. died Tuesday of cancer after a long illness. Funeral will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Sunset Hills Mortuary with interment at Sunset Hills Memorial Park. Mrs. Ross was born in Portland May 6, 1924 and lived here all her life. She attended Multnomah Grade School and Lincoln High School. During WWII she was a Red Cross volunteer worker. She was also a Camp Fire Girls leader. She is survived by her husband Ralph, and four daughters, Kathleen, Laura, Margaret and Mary, all of Portland, and a sister, Mrs. Jeannette Trout, Portland. Also surviving are her parents, Mr. and Mrs. DC Losley, Portland. The family suggests remembrances be contributions to the American Cancer Society.
